LaBeouf takes his acting career very seriously and to prove it, he reportedly slashed his own face with a knife and had a tooth extracted in preparation to play a role in an upcoming World War II movie called Fury.
According to other actors on set, LaBeouf was not happy with the prosthetic gashes created by makeup artists so using a real blade, he made his own. One witness said that the actor told the makeup artist that the gashes looked good but not real. LaBeouf then walked into the hallway and asked people if they wanted to see something fun at which time he took out a knife and cut his face. He then added “That’s all real”.
In addition to the slashed face, LaBeouf was spotted on the movie set with a missing tooth. People initially thought it was yet another act pertaining to his role in the movie, which was later confirmed – LaBeouf did in fact have a tooth extracted. However, this time, he chose to have a professional dentist assist in creating the “right look”.
Fury is set for release in theaters October 14. Written and directed by David Ayer, the film stars Brad Pitt, Shia LeBeouf, Scott Eastwood, Clint Eastwood’s son, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, and Michael Pena.
